Scholarship Sweepstakes and Contests October 2017

I know when I try to stress the importance of continuing to apply for scholarships to my daughter, who is a freshman in college this year, I'm met with resistance and a groan. All college students ( and their parents) know how expensive college can be, especially if you aren't receiving any assistance, but its easy for a student to get burnt out of the process, which mainly consist of writing essay, after essay. Many students don't have the time, I know my daughter didn't.

So, I just wanted to take the time to show everyone, that not all scholarships require an essay, some scholarships are given out in a sweepstakes like format, most with no essay required. There are tons of scholarships out there like this, to which the only thing that is required  to enter is luck.(don't groan). You cant win if you don't enter right?

Here's a list of the current scholarship "opportunities", that only require an entry to have a chance to win. And hey, you never know...luck could just come your way.

The following is a list of available contests and sweepstakes I've found to  help everyone out and two very important things to remember; one, Always keep track of these type of scholarships ( actually  for all scholarships) deadlines, you don't want an excellent chance to win slip by. And 2,  always remember you should NEVER have to pay to apply for any of these scholarships. If a site asks you to pay to enter, just move along to the next chance, because its almost always a scam if the site is requesting payment, for something that is free.
Check out Fastweb.coms "12 tips to winning scholarships for school." It has some great tips on how to increase your chances of winning.

Click on the titles, to be taken to the application or entry page of each of the scholarship opportunities/sweepstakes/contests that are listed  currently open to enter right now, as of October 13, 2017:
