Get paid to take notes

Get paid to take notes

Taking notes is a requirement in most college classes. Unless you're some sort of genius savaunt it's a necessary evil..lol..im kidding.

How about if I told you there were sites that would pay you money to have a copy of those notes?

Well you're in luck, because there are a number of sites doing just that. On a couple of these sites being a top student with great grades will help you make more money if you decide to pursue this opportunity as those sites allow the buyer to view a student profile showing your grades you are currently getting or have gotten in the class. Not to worry though, your identity can be cloaked. I haven't listed any of those sites though, and I'll explain why later. Just keep in mind that fact if you check out other sites beside the ones I listed, ok?

Before I list the sites you can go to become a note taker I wanted to mention an offline way to make money taking notes, and that is that each university has a disability resource office which has a program where you can apply to become a note taker for fellow disabled students at your school.
The average pay is around $200 a semester, although some colleges pay per lecture and test. From what I've read these positions are formatted more like a job, should note taking turn out to be something you're great at, or if you just like helping people.

That being said, here are some of the sites I found that will pay you to take notes:

1 NEXUSNOTES

NexusNotes helps you earn a passive income by uploading your notes from courses you’ve taken or are currently taking. The Nexusnotes staff reviews each upload and only accepts high quality notes, so keep that in mind when you create an account. Once you have an account you just need to upload your notes then once they are approved, you can start earning money from them, and there's no limit on the amount of sets you can upload.

Buyers pay $35 for each set of notes, of that you’ll receive half of that $35 and Nexus notes takes the other half. You'll need a PayPal account because they send monthly payments in the beginning of the month to your PayPal account.

2.STUDYSOUP

Study soup is much like nexusnotes. You'll split the profit from each set of notes purchased, and there's no limit to the amount of sets you upload. The only difference is buyers purchase your materials through a prepaid system called Karma Points( karma points = the price of the set of notes)The amount of Karma Points your notes is worth is calculated by StudySoup depending on the material.

Once you've established yourself on this site you can apply to be upgraded to an Elite Notetaker status. Why should you do that, you ask? Because Elite Notetakers’ earn a base pay plus commission each semester.

The application to become an Elite Notetaker is located on their site, youll need to fill it out,and sign a contractors agreement once accepted.

There are requirements that come along with an Elite Notetaker status. One being, four days before an exam in a particular class you'll need to create a study guide, which will earn you a base pay of $25 (three exams per course maximum). You'll also earn $4 each time your notes are purchased by a buyer, and $8 when a buyer purchases your study guide.

Elite notetakers also have to upload their notes weekly throughout the semester. While regular notetakers bundle the notes from the previous month and upload only once a month. You can cash out once you earn a minimum of $25 via PayPal or direct deposit.

3. COURSEHERO

At Course Hero you’ll can earn a maximum of $15 for someone who views your content and then becomes Course Hero user. For two pieces of content, you can earn a maximum of $20, and will earn another $1 every time your content has been downloaded or 'unlocked' 20 times .

The cash-out minimum is $20 via PayPal and there’s no limit to the amount of uploads or classes.

Their are other sites out there, but I decided to only post the sites where the pay was fair. Many of the other sites require you to market your notes to fellow students, have low pay per set prices, or worse you get paid out in gift cards.

Don't get me wrong gift cards are nice, but I feel if you're doing the work and taking time out of an already busy schedule by putting effort into anything, it should result in cash in your hand, and then from there you can decide where and how you'll spend that money, not someone else.

Especially since they're most likely making more money off giving you the gift card then you are for all your hard work. And that's crappy.

Anyway, back to the topic ...selling you're notes won't make you rich , but can help out a little while you get by in school. And ultimately your note taking skill would surely improve. Which couldn't hurt, right.
